How can we help?
Questions about orders
Payments in our webshop are processed through Mollie. Mollie is a very renowned and reliable payment provider that is used by numerous companies for the handling of online payments. Via Mollie we offer you the option to pay via iDeal, credit card or PayPal.
If you purchase a SIM, hotspot or router from us, you specify the start and end dates of the rental period when ordering. We will ship the rented SIM/equipment 3 working days before the start date so that you have everything on time. This means that it’s best to order a few days before you actually need to be online. If you need it quickly, we will do our very best to ship it to you on the day of ordering. Your order must be received by us before 5pm (17:00 hours).
If you would like to continue using the SIM or hotspot/router with SIM for a longer period of time, you can renew online if you have ordered via our website. To do so, log into your account on this website. In your order history, you will find the option to renew the original order.
If you did not order your SIM directly through this website, but purchased it through one of our partners, please contact us [add details how to contact us] to extend or renew your period of use.
Please renew on time, i.e. before the period of use ends. Once a SIM has been deactivated, it cannot be ‘turned on’ or used again.
If you only rented a SIM from us, you do not have to return it. We turn off the SIM at the end of the usage period and you can throw the SIM away.
Return a router/hotspot the first working day after the end of the usage period. Please put the device back in the letterbox packaging with the power supply to the side, so that you can close the package. Put the provided return label on top of the box and drop it off and a PostNL drop-off point.
If you have misplaced the return label you may use this return address:
Internet On Demand B.V.
Dillenburgstraat 2
5151 GL Drunen
If you return the device later, we will deduct the extra days and costs from the deposit. It does not matter whether you have used the device or not.
When you rent a hotspot or router from us, you pay €150 deposit per rented item. You pay this deposit when you place your order in our webshop.
After we have received the hotspot or router back from you, we will check if it is still in good condition and if the original plug, adapter and cord are included. If everything is ok, we will refund your deposit within 2 weeks after we have received the hotspot or router back from you. For refunds we use the same bank account, credit card or PayPal account that you used when paying for your order.
Should there be any problems with the returned hotspot or router we will settle the damage from the deposit.
Technical questions
For security reasons, a new IP address is assigned to the SIM every day in T-Mobile’s network.
This happens once every 24 hours and always at about the same time.
You can influence this time by rebooting/restarting the router or hotspot in which you are using the SIM.
From that moment on, the change of the IP address will take place daily at the time you rebooted the hotspot or router.
So if you don’t want to be bothered by the short interruption during the day, restart
your router or hotspot once late in the evening or early in the morning.
We do not work with a bundle, with us you basically have unlimited data at your disposal. What we do ask of you is to use the SIM wisely. We call this the don’t push it policy. In short, have fun with the SIM, but don’t go too far. If so much data is consumed via the SIM that this causes problems (for example in the mobile data network), we will discuss this with you. If you are unable or unwilling to reduce consumption, this may result in us having to disable the SIM card. This is of course a step that we do not want to take and we therefore trust that we will find a solution in joint consultation that is workable for all parties involved.
NOTE: Our SIM cards are not suitable or intended for uploading large amounts of data.
Nowadays, mobile data networks offer good coverage in almost all of the Netherlands. We use SIMs from T-Mobile that provide unlimited data in the Netherlands. T-Mobile has been the best in independent network tests many times before. Even in using the best-tested network we cannot guarantee 100% coverage and there are places in the Netherlands where the coverage isn’t as good or there is no coverage at all.
If you want to know what coverage you can expect, take a look at the T-Mobile coverage webpage.
Our SIMs have a dynamic IP address that is automatically changed once every 24 hours. A fixed IP address is not possible, not even for an additional fee. If you still want to use a fixed IP address, you could arrange this via DYNDNS, see also contact us
The SIM you receive is already active and you do not need a PIN code to use it. Insert the SIM into a suitable device (hotspot, router, dongle, etc) and turn on this device. The SIM will now establish a connection with T-Mobile’s mobile data network. Once this connection has been established (usually within half a minute) you can access the internet.
A hotspot is a small portable box (the size of a bank card reader) with a (rechargeable) battery and can therefore be taken anywhere. If you want to connect equipment to the hotspot, you can only do so via the Wifi network that is broadcast by the hotspot. The range of that Wifi network is about 15 meters. The hotspot is ideal for temporary use on, for example, a flexible office space. Or when you are temporarily without an internet connection and you only want to access the internet with a few people at a time. You can connect up to 8 users to 1 hotspot at the same time.
A router is more powerful than the hotspot in every respect: better antennas for 4G reception and a larger Wifi range (up to 100 meters). The router only works on 230V and has no battery. On the other hand, the router also has a few LAN ports. This means that equipment can be connected to the router not only via the Wifi network but also wired. This is useful, for example, if you want to connect a printer that can then be used by all users in the network. The router is particularly suitable for small business use and can be used for a longer period of time.
Speeds of mobile data are influenced by many factors and we cannot give you any guarantees. What we can tell you, however, is that our SIMs always offer the highest available speeds. Keep in mind that speeds can vary even if you were to use the SIM in the same location for a while. For example, if it gets busier on the cellular tower to which your SIM is connected, this will have a negative effect on the speed.
In addition, the device that contains the SIM also has an influence. If you use an old 3G dongle, you will really get slower speeds than if you use a newer 4G+ or 5G router. If you rent a hotspot or router from us, you will always have equipment that supports 4G+ or 5G speeds.
On this T-Mobile webpage you can see what the coverage is like at your location.
There are still a number of places in the Netherlands where there is no mobile coverage. Consider, for example, nature reserves. So it could be that you are in such an area and have no coverage. We cannot change this. So take a good look at the T-Mobile coverage map (under ‘dekking‘) to see how the coverage is at your location before you order a SIM, hotspot or router from us. On the coverage map (under the outage tab called ‘storingen‘) you can also see where outage/disruptions have been reported. Disruptions can cause you to temporarily have no or reduced coverage with negative consequences for the stability of the connection and the speeds offered. T-Mobile finds disruptions as unpleasant as you do and does everything in its power to resolve them as quickly as possible.
If the hotspot, router or SIM that you have purchased from us does not work,
you can first take a few steps yourself to solve the problem.
SIM only
If you only rented a SIM, please try the SIM in another device such as your cellphone. If everything works, then the problem is not the SIM or the connection, but most likely the device with which you are experiencing the problems.
The SIM you got from us is a so-called 3-in-1 SIM with all common formats so you can place the SIM in any device.
Hotspot with SIM
If you rented a hotspot, look in the display to find out what the problem is.
*When you see the text ‘no network’ [geen netwerk] it probably means that you are out of range of the T-Mobile Netherlands network. If the hotspot does work in other places, you most likely have no coverage. There is nothing we can do about that. In that case, please contact us.
*When you see ‘T-Mobile NL’ in the display, there is a connection to the T-Mobile network in place. If you are unable to connect to the Wi-Fi network, please check if you have entered the correct password when connecting your device to the Wifi network of the hotspot.
*If you are connected to the hotspot and the hotspot has a connection to T-Mobile, but you can’t access the internet, you can reset the hotspot.
- This is done by removing the cover and the battery at the back of the hotspot. Then take a picture of the sticker underneath the battery. Place the battery back, but not the cover yet!
- Switch the hotspot back on by pressing the button on the front of the hotspot. Once the hotspot is back on, you can reset the hotspot.
- The reset button can be found next to the battery (small button with ‘RESET’ next to it). To reset the hotspot, press and hold the reset button with a paper clip or other pointed object for about 20 seconds. In the display you will see the Huawei logo and you will see the hotspot restarting.
- Since you have reset the hotspot, the name and password we set have been removed and the hotspot will show the name of the Wifi network that was set at the factory. This name is on the sticker (check your picture of it). The password you need now is also on the sticker next to ‘WIFI KEY:’ With this password you can log into the Wifi network of the hotspot.
If you are still not connected to the internet, please contact us.
Router with SIM
If you have rented a router from us and are unable to connect to the Internet, please first make sure you have entered the correct password when logging into the router’s Wifi network (see the sticker at the bottom of the router).
If the 2nd light from the left on the front of the router is blue / aqua in color, the SIM is connected to the T-Mobile network. If the light is red in color, there is no connection. It is possible that the SIM is connected and that you also have access to the Wifi network, but that you cannot access the internet. Then it is best to reset the router as follows:
Turn on the router (plug in the wall socket) and press the reset button on the back of the router with a paperclip or other pointed object for at least 20-30 seconds. You will see the lights on the front of the router blink. When you release the reset button, the router will restart and you can log in again. If you are still unable to access the internet, please contact us.
You can send us an email (contact@internetondemand.nl) or call our customer service (+31(0)85-047 0029, on working days from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM). Do this as soon as possible so that we can work with you to see how to solve the problem.
In essence, our solution doesn’t work any differently than your cellular phone.
We also use a SIM that makes contact with a cellular data network and sets up an internet connection.
In addition to the SIM, you also need a device in which the SIM is placed. This can be a hotspot or a router (you can rent one from us or maybe you have such a device yourself). You could also use your old smartphone for that purpose.
The SIMs we use are so-called data only SIMs. This means that our SIMs are only suitable for sending and receiving data. You won’t get a cellphone number with the SIM and you cannot use it to make phone-calls or send SMS messages.
However, If you use the SIM in a hotspot or router, you can send messages and make calls using apps like WhatsApp or Skype via this hotspot or router.
The SIM cards we offer (whether or not in combination with a hotspot or router) only work in the Netherlands, on T-Mobile’s network.
This is the best-tested mobile network in the Netherlands. When you get out of range of this network, your connection will be disconnected.
Other questions
It is true that there are more providers, but most providers offer unlimited SIMs with daily bundles on them.
If you have used up that bundle, you can request additional data again until that extra bundle has run out and then you can request additional data again. That is quite a hassle, especially if you have to do that several times a day.
We relieve you of that problem because we do not work with bundles, not even a day bundle!
And because we don’t have bundles, the connection won’t drop if you’ve used a certain amount of data.
Also the speed will not suddenly be reduced to unworkable speeds.
In short, continuous data at the highest available speed.
Another aspect that makes us unique, is that you can rent a SIM, hotspot or router for any period of time. Whether it’s 1 day, 3 weeks or 6 months in a temporary office for instance, it doesn’t matter.
Common/conventional providers usually only offer long-term contracts.
If you would like to use our services for a period of more than 6 months, yes you can.
Please contact us.
Yes, we have solutions for that, too. Please contact us so we can discuss your wishes with you.
